Destroy Any Website controls
Every input the game uses, on one screen. There are fewer than you think — most of the skill is in the jetpack and the drop-down.
The control scheme is deliberately thin. Movement on the left hand, aiming and shooting on the mouse, weapons on the number row or the scroll wheel. Nothing is hidden behind a menu.

The official page confirms the requirements rather than the key list: desktop browser, keyboard and mouse. The bindings above are the ones the game itself shows and uses, and they have stayed stable since launch.
The two controls that decide how well you play
The jetpack
Holding the jump key in the air turns it into a jetpack. On a long page this is not a bonus, it is the main way you travel — the targets worth shooting are usually well above the line you start on. Pages built from tall article layouts are almost unplayable without it, because the interesting geometry sits out of reach above the fold.
Drop-down
Pressing down lets you fall through a surface instead of standing on it. On pages with many stacked blocks, dropping down is often faster than walking to an edge. If you feel stuck on top of something with nothing to shoot, you have almost certainly forgotten this key.
Practical notes
- Give the mouse some room. Aiming is free-look, so a cramped pointer path costs you accuracy on small targets like individual letters.
- Do not hold left click on the shotgun. Weapons do not share a cooldown, but the heavier ones want deliberate shots, not spam.
- Esc is your friend on a bad run. Restarting is faster than trying to salvage a level you have already scattered.
- No controller support. The official requirements say keyboard and mouse, so a gamepad is not an option.

Frequently asked questions
- How do you fly in Destroy Any Website?
- Hold Space (or W) while you are already in the air and the jump turns into a jetpack hover. You have to jump first — holding the key from the ground does nothing special.
- How do you switch weapons?
- Press the number keys 1 through 7, or scroll the mouse wheel. Both work and there is no menu to open.
- How do you throw grenades?
- Right-click. Grenades are a separate slot rather than one of the seven weapons, so you do not have to switch to them.
- Does Destroy Any Website support a controller?
- No. The official system requirements list a keyboard and mouse, and there is no gamepad mapping.
